As the President of the Growth and Active Learning organization of Ontario (GALO), I take this role to help lead my team in creating activities and opportunities for our community, especially focusing on our youth and future generations. Through organization programs such as sports, leadership and mentorship programs, I strive to bring people together and encourage teamwork as well as create a positive environment where everyone can stay active, develop new skills and build connections.
Through this role, I focus on supporting my team, guiding our initiative and help turn out ideas into experiences that won't be forgotten. I believe that leadership is about collaboration, dedication and creating opportunities for everyone. As the Operations and Program Director at Growth and Active Learning of Ontario (GALO), I oversee event logistics, manage day-to-day operations, and lead the planning and execution of program schedules and formats to ensure the successful delivery of the organization's initiatives. Hello! My name is Peiwen, a member of the Growth and Active Learning organization of Ontario (GALO) where I serve as the Volunteer Director. My role is to recruit volunteers for the different programs and events we host. As the head, my job is not only to recruit volunteers, but also provide support and guidance in their role as volunteers in our facilities so they can succeed as leaders.
Through my actions in GALO, my goal is to create opportunities, and experiences, for youth volunteers to develop valuable skills, gain hands-on experience and grow as leaders. I believe that volunteering is more than a job, it is an opportunity to create self growth and discovery through a positive and inclusive community. I want to strive to foster volunteers who gain qualities of leadership, responsibility, teamwork, and confidence.
